About Trak & Co
TRAK & CO is a year-round geothermal greenhouse providing herbs, plants, succulents, vegetables, custom orders and seasonal offerings in South Central Nebraska.
Recognized as an Aksarben Pioneer Family in 1991, Nebraska’s agriculture heritage is our passion. Sharing our knowledge for local beautiful plants, fresh produce and supporting rural food availability keeps traditions alive for future generations. Plants have been our life for over seven generations. We keep growing.
Growing like grandma and grandpa taught us – seeds are planted by hand and cared for individually.
We hand water – without automatic or overhead sprinklers. We strive for the healthiest, best growing, most beautiful plants in the area – using the most natural methods possible. Culinary herbs, vegetables, houseplants, tropical plants and succulents in various sizes are available year-round.
As native Nebraskans, we are proud to be a part of our local community and work hard to grow quality, sustainable plants with naturally healthy soil. We produce our plants without the use of chemical pesticides and encourage beneficial predatory insects in our greenhouse to control any pest populations that may arise.
During the summer months we sell farm fresh produce – potatoes, onions, peaches, cucumbers, cabbage and much more.
A Greenhouse in the Snow
TRAK & CO is a ‘Greenhouse in the Snow’ design located in Hastings, NE. Our greenhouse and plant shop is a nod to Hastings history at the corner of 42nd and Highway 281 at Kohl Corner.
Our Inspiration
Kathy & Dusty Kohl
Previous property owners & all-around amazing people
Brian “Dusty” Kohl was a Hastings resident who’s life story is worthy of a monument much larger than we can construct with this simple paragraph. Dusty passed away suddenly in December 2021, and every step of our journey is dedicated to his life. His wife Kathy is a vital part of our Trak & Co journey. Kathy attends to all aspects of gardening and day-to-day greenhouse management, as well as our resident expert on all things “Dusty”.
Russ Finch
Creator of the "Greenhouse in the Snow"
Over the last 35 Russ years used this low-grade geo thermal greenhouse to produce citrus, fruits, vegetables and flowers year round. He and his partner Allan continue to innovate and sell these greenhouses throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
